Winnin’ Time for Bautista?
Fans of jockey Alex Bautista will have plenty of opportunities to wager on their favorite rider tonight at Los Alamitos.
Bautista, who is winning at better than a 20% clip through the first 64 nights of the season, is scheduled to ride in eight of the nine races.
Most of his mounts are serious contenders, including Shoot N Shine in the eighth at 870 yards. The Texas-bred drew the rail in the field of eight and goes for his second win at the meet. He won for Bautista on Feb. 24.
The picks: 1. Quick N Sweet. 2. Making Amends. 3. Flyndoll. 4. Dark Shaat. 5. Cagey Cameron. 6. World Of Fun. 7. Be Bop Jazz. 8. Shoot N Shine. 9. Hugo Rules.
Four! Let’s single World Of Fun in the sixth, use Be Bop Jazz, How Bee Zar and GW Fancy Noble Chick in the seventh, Shoot N Shine and Reeking Havoc in the eighth and Hugo Rules, Rio Cheng and Wizard Of Easton in the ninth.
Shots in the dark: In the first race, Salade Nicoise is a new face debuting in a bad race for a winning barn (Christopher O’Dell) and Defrere R.N. is the longer price of trainer Chuck Treece’s two entrants in the third.
