Skakel Defense Seeks Evidence
NORWALK, Conn. — A lawyer for Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel asked prosecutors Tuesday for any evidence that implicates an earlier suspect in the slaying of a neighbor 26 years ago.
Skakel, a nephew of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, is on trial in the beating death of Martha Moxley, who was killed in their wealthy Greenwich neighborhood in 1975. Both were 15 at the time.
The defense motion asks prosecutors for information related to Kenneth Littleton, a tutor who had begun living with the Skakel family at the time of the killing.
Littleton received immunity from prosecution for testifying before the grand jury that charged Skakel.
