There are two days to go before the start of the Gateway Challenge 2001--the world’s largest computer game tournament.

In partnership with Intel Corp. and ATI Technologies Inc., Gateway Inc. will be playing host to the coast-to-coast tournament in all of its 296 Gateway Country stores Saturday to Nov. 25.

The free tournament has been a popular event. Last year it drew more than 9,000 competitors.

Players will compete on Sierra’s NASCAR Racing 4 game. Each participant will be allowed to compete once a day, with their best time counting toward the final ranking in each age group.

Prizes will range in value from $50 to $3,000. They will be awarded in five categories: ages 6-9, 10-13, 14-18, 19-30 and age 31 and older.
