From Times Staff Reports
An armed man robbed a bank Friday morning and fled in a taxi, authorities said.
The robbery occurred shortly before noon at First Bank and Trust in the 5800 block of Telephone Road, said Ventura Police Sgt. Tom Taylor. The robber displayed a pistol and ordered a teller to give him cash.
The robber left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and took a cab to California and Date streets in Oxnard.
Officers interviewed the cab driver and several witnesses in the bank but were unable to obtain a detailed description of the robber.
