Motorola Agrees to Pact With Powerwave

Powerwave Technologies Inc., a Santa Ana maker of parts for wireless telephone networks, said Friday it has agreed to be the exclusive external supplier of certain power amplifiers to Motorola Inc.
Financial details of the three-year agreement weren’t disclosed. The amplifiers will be used with Motorola’s cellular base stations, which transmit and receive calls, Powerwave said in a news release.
Powerwave’s stock rose $1.65 Friday to close at $14.50 on Nasdaq. Motorola stock gained $1.09 to close at $16.56 on the New York Stock Exchange.
