Kegley Braced for Stretch Run
Kyle Kegley of Thousand Oaks High doesn’t expect to be 100% for the Lancers’ game at Moorpark on Friday, but he says he’ll play after missing last Friday’s game against Royal because of a sprained left ankle.
Kegley, who shot baskets for two hours Monday while wearing an ankle brace, sustained the injury in the second half of the Lancers’ 80-47 victory over Agoura last Wednesday.
“My foot just hit a wet spot and rolled out from underneath me,” Kegley said.
Thousand Oaks, the No. 2-ranked team in the region, defeated last-place Royal, 89-48, without leading scorer Kegley.
But the Lancers (17-4, 7-1 in league play) will face much tougher opponents in the final two weeks of the regular season when they play Moorpark, Westlake, Simi Valley and Newbury Park.

Oxnard, the top-ranked team in the region, can post its third consecutive 20-win season with a victory at Buena tonight.
The Yellowjackets (19-3) were 21-7 during the 1998-99 season and 22-5 last season.
