‘Conversations’ With Pasadena Symphony

The first event of a four-part series titled “Classical Conversations--Behind the Scenes With Jorge Mester and the Pasadena Symphony” will take place Friday at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena at 695 E. Colorado Blvd.

The 4:30 p.m. event will feature Mester, the Pasadena Symphony’s music director, along with violinist Jennifer Frautschi.

Future programs will be held at the same location March 1 (with Mester and Russian pianist Dmitri Ratser), May 3 (Mester and Czech piano virtuoso Martin Kasik) and June 7 (Mester and timpanists Jonathan Haas and Thomas Raney).

Each panel will focus on the program of a subsequent concert performance (the speakers are soloists on the concert programs, which are scheduled one to two days after the panel events). Those attending each event will receive vouchers to attend a free rehearsal the same evening.
