Commissioner Fired
* Re “Firing of Police Panel President Is Criticized,” Feb. 7: I voted for Richard Riordan twice, the first Republican I have ever voted for, and now I am sorry.
This arrogant and irresponsible mayor has fired the wrong guy! He should have fired Police Chief Bernard Parks and not Gerald Chaleff, the Police Commission president.
I just can’t understand why Parks is not given more blame and responsibility for all the police problems, particularly in the Rampart Division of the LAPD.
Instead, he gets a raise! I will be very happy that, in five months, we will get a new mayor.
