Re “Bank Robbery Suspect Caught After Crash,” Jan. 24.

As a long-time motorist and resident of the San Fernando Valley, I am very concerned that the police do not seem to have a plan to stop people who race with abandon, at great speed, through our crowded streets.

My wife and I watched this on the news: yet another chase, with police following, making little effort to knock this guy out, and then he runs into the intersection and broadsides that car at high speed, throwing it onto the sidewalk across the street.

There are far too many idiots running from the cops these days, but to see an innocent motorist injured like this is a shocking, frightening scene that can happen so quickly if one is in the wrong place at the wrong time. I pray she will be OK.
