HIGH SCHOOL NOTEBOOK
Get the St. Bonaventure players together for a game, and the result is predictable more often than not.
The Seraphs have lost five times, but only once with a full squad. Injuries and the football team’s advance deep into the playoffs hurt the Seraphs (15-5, 5-0) starting the season, but they have been tough lately.
Wade DeSmidt, a 6-foot-10 center, is averaging 5.3 blocked shots and Chris Saunders is averaging 18.3 points. The Seraphs are in first place in the Tri-Valley League.
Sophomore Whitney Lewis is averaging 16.5 points since returning from the football team.
“He gives us a new dimension,” Coach Gil Kim said. “You throw Whitney into the mix and we can go inside, outside, penetrate, do anything.”
