Mojave 28, Vasquez 8--Mojave turned two third-quarter interceptions into touchdowns in a league opener at Mojave.

Linebacker Adam Harris returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown on Vasquez’s first possession of the second half, and Cox hit Ahmad Griffin with a 21-yard scoring pass after a 15-yard interception return by Aaron Coleman.

Scott Barker made a bobbling catch of L.D. Cox’ 28-yard touchdown pass with 5:49 remaining in the first half to give Mojave a 7-0 lead.

Luca Spigno completed seven of 25 passes for 107 yards for Vasquez (1-2-1), including a 28-yard touchdown to Tony Uebelhardt late in the fourth quarter. Uebelhardt finished with four receptions for 72 yards.

John Tosto carried 14 times for 60 yards and scored a two-point conversion for Vasquez.
