Woman Hospitalized After Crash Into Pole
A Camarillo woman was listed in stable condition Friday, a day after crashing her car into a power pole in Oxnard.
Laura Urban, 36, was driving northbound on Maulhardt Road at about 8 p.m. Thursday when she lost control of her 1984 Ford Mustang while trying to negotiate a curve, Oxnard police said.
Urban’s car hit a utility pole, toppling power lines, and then rolled onto nearby Pacific Coast Highway. Police said Urban was thrown from the vehicle and sustained multiple injuries.
She was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and was listed in stable condition Friday in the intensive care unit.
Police said it appeared Urban was not wearing a seat belt. They are investigating whether alcohol may have played a part in the crash.
The crash knocked out electricity for about 3,100 Southern California Edison customers. Power was restored by early Friday morning, a company spokeswoman said.
