New Maze Design Keeps Aztec Theme
The Amazing Maize Maze in Camarillo opened its new fall corn maze design Thursday. The design is grown in the shape of the Aztec quetzal bird, with an outer ring in the shape of a compass that points north.
The summer maze design--shaped like the Aztec calendar, also known as the sun stone--opened in June and closed Sept. 5.
The outing includes an orientation, hints, puzzle pieces, a horticulture display, wagon rides and a picnic area. Participants can decipher clues and collect pieces to a map of the maze in the effort to find the way out. The maze is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Monday.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 4-12 and seniors over 65. Group discounts are available.
