Lancisero Gives El Modena Quick Start in Rout of Orange
Adam Lancisero provided all the offense El Modena needed in its 51-6 defeat of Orange in front of 400 fans Thursday at El Modena.
Lancisero scored four touchdowns and gained 170 yards in only 12 carries, all by the 9:35 mark of the second quarter. Coach Jason Hitchens then removed most of his starters.
El Modena (8-2, 4-1) will finish second in the Century League if Foothill loses to undefeated Villa Park tonight. That would propel El Modena into a berth in the Division VI playoffs. Orange ended its season at 0-10.
Panther quarterbacks Joe Perez and Justin Trejo completed only seven passes in 26 attempts.
El Modena quarterback Kevin Brown was economical, completing four of seven passes for 85 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown pass to Joe Mitchell.
El Modena spread the rushing assignments between seven running backs. Daniel Dixon compiled 67 yards on the ground, including a touchdown, and caught a 38-yard pass from Brown.
Michael Makins ran for 34 yards in the second half and Armando Ruiz had 60 yards in only seven carries.
