Woman Stabbed in Daylight Robbery in Westminster; Assailants Take $800
A woman was stabbed three times in her legs by two men who attacked and robbed her Thursday outside a restaurant in Westminster, police said.
The attackers, still at large late Thursday, may have followed her and a companion from a nearby bank, where they had made a withdrawal, investigators said.
The incident happened at 1:17 p.m in the parking lot of a restaurant on Brookhurst Street, said Robin Kapp of the Westminster Police Department.
He said the two women, both of Garden Grove, left their car and were walking toward the restaurant when two men with shaved heads attacked them. One woman, 53, was stabbed in both legs, Kapp said. The other woman was knocked to the ground but not injured. The attackers took both women’s purses, one of which contained $800.
The suspects fled in a blue or gray U.S.-made car, investigators said. The stabbing victim was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was in serious condition.
Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call detectives at (714) 898-3315.
