A 20-year-old Trabuco Canyon woman was killed and her two passengers injured, one critically, when a vehicle driven by a teenager collided with her car in Lake Forest early Saturday, authorities said.

Lauren Zobel died at the scene about 1:20 a.m. after a car driven by Milissa Manning, 19, of Lake Forest, struck her on the driver’s side at El Toro Road and Montcliff Drive. Zobel had just crossed into the intersection from Montcliff Drive when the accident happened, said sheriff’s Lt. Larry Abbott.

The accident was being investigated. No arrests were made, the lieutenant said.

One of Zobel’s passengers, Robert Rankin, 21, of Mission Viejo, was taken to Mission Community Hospital with major trauma to the left side of his chest and a concussion, Abbott said. He was in intensive care, but in stable condition Saturday, a hospital spokesperson said. The other passenger, Michael Salinas, 21, of Rancho Santa Margarita, was taken to the same hospital with a broken leg and a concussion. He had leg surgery Saturday and was listed in good condition.
