Modesto Trounces Lancaster, 11-2
Jon Schaeffer, from Harvard-Westlake High, drove in five runs with two hits, including a bases-loaded triple during a five-run fourth inning, to help Modesto defeat Lancaster, 11-2, Friday night in front of 2,590 at Modesto.
Omar Olivares of the Oakland Athletics pitched two hitless innings in a rehabilitation assignment. The JetHawks (67-38, 27-8 in the second half) were held to three hits by Olivares, Jon Adkins (1-0) and Bryan Mazur. Peanut Williams had a run-scoring single, while Bo Robinson and Harvey Hargrove each doubled.
