No. 2 Stanford Too Much for Washington, 92-62

Forward Mark Madsen had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 2-ranked Stanford to a 92-62 victory over Washington Thursday night at Palo Alto.

Madsen moved within four points of becoming the 27th Stanford player with 1,000 points.

Guard Casey Jacobsen and reserve forward Jason Collins had 17 points each for Stanford, 16-1 overall and 5-1 in the Pacific 10.

The Cardinal had a 28-point lead in the first half and was ahead by 45 in the second half.

Washington (6-13, 1-6) has lost six in a row.

Reserve forward Will Perkins had 20 points and eight rebounds, and guard Deon Luton had 13 points to move to 12th on Washington’s career scoring list. Starters Thalo Green and David Dixon went scoreless.

California 80, Washington State 46--Joe Shipp, a reserve freshman forward, made nine of 14 shots and had a game-high 22 points in 18 minutes for the Golden Bears (11-7, 2-4) at Berkeley. The Cougars (5-11, 0-7) had no players score in double figures.
