LAGUNA BEACH
Organizers of an effort to recall the Festival of Arts board members gathered about 120 signatures of exhibitors Wednesday night.
Exhibitors, who now are organized as Artists Resolved to Stay, estimate that they have 130 signatures from voting members--enough by state law for a recall election. But group leaders say they will obtain at least 220 signatures, which is what the festival’s bylaws require, before submitting the recall petitions.
The exhibitors launched the recall effort after the board began a push to move the 68-year Laguna Beach institution to San Clemente.
