Bibby Says Hair Rises to Occasion
So has Nate Hair won a job or what?
Coach Henry Bibby played it coy Tuesday when asked if his freshman guard would stay in the lineup against California on Thursday for the injured Sam Clancy. Hair had a productive weekend, scoring 13 and 14 points against Oregon and Oregon State, respectively.
“Nate has played well in the games he’s been in,” Bibby said. “It depends on what the situation is. If it’s a big lineup Kostas [Charissis] will be in there. If it’s smaller it will be Nate Hair. I’m not set on that.
“Nate gives us offense, and that’s something you look for when you have a Sam Clancy and his 18 points a game go out of the lineup.”
So that means Hair will start?
“There’s a good possibility,” Bibby said. “That’s what I’ll be coming to terms with in the next day.”

Clancy’s broken right foot was examined Monday. The fracture is healing, but team trainers said it was too early to predict when Clancy can return to action.
