LAGUNA BEACH
A building where artists can live, work and display exhibits gained Planning Commission approval this week amid some concerns from nearby residents.
The commission unanimously approved the project but limited any summer parties or events at the building to 150 people. The project is under construction at 891 Laguna Canyon Road, next door to the Sawdust Festival office.
The project, proposed by resident Mark Orgill, will have five spaces for artists to live and work in, an art showroom, a cultural center and an art exhibition area, where alcohol can be served.
