No. 4 Titans Lose in Men’s Soccer
Anthony Dimech scored three goals to help Cal Poly San Luis Obispo defeat fourth-ranked Cal State Fullerton, 3-2, in a nonconference men’s soccer game Wednesday at San Luis Obispo.
The Titans (7-1), ranked fourth in the National Soccer Coaches Assn. of America poll, took a 1-0 lead on Shaun Higgins’ goal, but then Dimech scored three consecutive goals for the Mustangs (2-5-2).
Fullerton’s Art Ramirez scored in the 87th minute to make it 3-2.
Brenton Junge, formerly of Trabuco Hills High, made five saves for San Luis Obispo.
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s soccer:
Vanguard 1, Concordia 0 (OT)--Jennifer Bird scored in the 118th minute off an assist from Ganesa Cobb for Vanguard (7-3, 1-0).
In women’s volleyball:
Concordia 3, Redlands 0--Richelle Danet had 31 assists and eight digs for host Concordia (13-6), which won, 15-1, 15-5, 15-4.
