The United States men’s water polo team earned a crucial victory against Australia, 6-4, to remain in the medal round of the FINA World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
Former Villa Park High star Gavin Arroyo, former Long Beach State star Kyle Kopp and Long Beach Wilson High senior Tony Azevedo each scored a goal for the U.S. team, which is 1-1 heading into today’s game against Russia. Dan Hackett, formerly of Irvine High and UCLA, had 11 saves.
