Hurricane Damages Hardee’s Headquarters
CKE Restaurants Inc. said Wednesday that the corporate headquarters of its Hardee’s chain in Rocky Mount, N.C., sustained substantial damage from Hurricane Floyd.
The hurricane disrupted Hardee’s accounting and administrative functions, according to Anaheim-based CKE. Property and business interruption insurance will cover the damage to several buildings.
CKE Restaurants said it set up temporary work spaces for the more than 300 affected employees.
Most of the company’s restaurants in the South “weathered Floyd reasonably well,” CKE said. A total of 109 restaurants were closed during the storm because of electrical outages and flooding, but most were back in business within a few days. Four locations remain closed, three because of significant flood damage, CKE said.
