Paraclete 33, L.A. Baptist 16--Curtis Brown rushed for 341 yards and four touchdowns in 31 carries and Paraclete pulled away in the fourth quarter at Alemany High.
Brown, a sophomore tailback, ran two yards for a touchdown to give Paraclete (5-3, 2-0) a 12-0 lead in the first quarter. Brown followed with fourth-quarter touchdown runs off 22, two and one yard.
L.A. Baptist (4-4, 1-2) trailed, 12-10, after three quarters. Scott Swenson completed 22 of 37 passes for 308 yards.
Daniel Acuna caught seven passes for 116 yards for L.A. Baptist.
Brown gained 230 yards in the second half. Brown had a 51-yard run during the Spirits’ final scoring drive.
