TONIGHT
BRAVES’ KEVIN MILLWOOD
(18-7, 2.68 ERA)
vs.
YANKEES’ DAVID CONE
(12-9, 3.44 ERA)
* Update--Millwood had a shaky outing against the New York Mets in the decisive Game 6 of the National League championship series, but the second-year standout has been strong overall in four appearances this postseason. “I was kind of looking forward to pitching there [at Yankee Stadium],” said Millwood, making his first career World Series start. “I missed pitching there during the regular season [interleague series] this year, and it has always been kind of a dream of mine to be able to pitch in that stadium. What better time to pitch there than in the World Series, but I guess if I had to pick home or away, I’d much rather pitch at home.” Cone is making his fifth start in the World Series, his third with the Yankees.
