Sheriff’s Station Plans Open House
A bicycle event for kids, displays of law enforcement equipment and McGruff the crime-fighting dog will highlight an open house Saturday at the sheriff’s station.
Deputies from the bomb squad, air patrol and mounted and traffic units will have displays at the station, 3701 E. Las Posas Road.
The Ventura County Fire Department and a local ambulance company will also have booths.
Guided tours of the station will be offered, and food and beverages will be sold by the sheriff’s Explorer Post #2932 and the Camarillo Moose Lodge.
Children ages 5 to 12 can practice riding their bikes and learn safety tips. Several local businesses have donated raffle prizes.
The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the station at 388-5130.
