Mission Viejo Nadadores springboard and platform divers earned 1999 Diver of the Year recognition awards from the Southern Pacific Diving Assn. The divers were Karissa Campbell, girls 10-11, Junior Olympic; Alyssa Gibson, girls 12-13, Junior Olympic; Steven Starks, boys 9 and younger, Junior Olympic; Kyle Simmons, boys 10-11, Junior Olympic; Derek Starks, boys 12-13, Junior Olympic; Michael Hilde, boys 14-15, Junior Olympic; and Ray Vincent, boys 16-18, Junior Olympic and Senior Olympic. The titles were awarded on overall points from performances at both the local and the national competitions this year.
