Benefit Dinner to Aid ALS Patient Programs

Hank Azaria, co-star of the upcoming TV movie “Tuesdays With Morrie,” and his wife Helen Hunt are scheduled to take part in the “Rush for a Cure” fund-raiser Saturday held by the ALS Assn.’s Greater Los Angeles chapter.

Azaria will introduce a videotaped message from Jack Lemmon, who plays a patient afflicted by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Actor William Ragsdale (ABC’s “My Brother’s Keeper”) will host the evening. Former Dodger great Steve Garvey will be the keynote speaker.

The dinner, designed to raise funds for local patient programs and services, honors Leland Wong, director of government and community relations for Kaiser Permanente’s California division.

It will take place at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, 4700 Western Heritage Way.

Cocktails and a silent auction will begin at 6:30, dinner at 7:30 p.m.
