Man Shot in Face in Dana Point
A Los Angeles man was in critical condition late Tuesday after being shot during an argument on a Dana Point street with two other men, both of whom were later arrested, authorities said.
The shooting, which happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Sheltam Way, did not appear to be gang related, said a sheriff’s spokesman.
The 42-year-old victim was shot in the mouth after an altercation with the two men, whom witnesses said he appeared to know.
The suspects, ages 32 and 23, fled in a panel van to San Juan Capistrano, where they were arrested with a 45-caliber handgun in their possession, deputies said.
The two were booked at Orange County Jail.
The victim was at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo.
