After months of deliberation and discussion, the YWCA of North Orange County has decided to sell the “Y House,” its longtime headquarters at 321 N. Pomona Ave. With proceeds from the sale of the house and an additional property and funds raised at the recent Chocolate Fantasy event, the organization plans to retire its accumulated debt. “We’re letting go of the former location with nostalgia and regret, but we’re so optimistic and so looking forward to new quarters,” Executive Director Jan Hester said. The next step will be to find new homes for the YWCA child development center and a shelter program for women. “We will continue to serve the community as we have,” she said.
