PLACENTIA
Council members will decide tonight whether to grant more than $100,000 to the Police Department, which plans to use the funds to hire another officer and buy equipment such as a bar code scanning system for patrol car video tapes. The funds, if approved, also will be used to start a Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund, to partly cover future Police Department expenses. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers, 401 East Chapman Ave.
