19-Year-Old Injured in Possible Gang Shooting
A 19-year-old man was injured Thursday morning in a drive-by shooting that police believe is gang-related.
The shooting occurred about 10:35 a.m. in the 13400 block of Sayre Street, said Officer Charlotte Broughton of the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, whose name was not released, was walking on the street when two men in a yellow and white station wagon pulled up next to him, Broughton said.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that one or all of the men were involved in gang activity, she said.
The men in the car shouted at the victim before shooting him in the lower and upper body, Broughton said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, Broughton said.
