Forklift Operator Crushed to Death
A forklift driver was crushed to death when he lost control of the vehicle and it landed on him.
Raul Rodriguez Magdaleno, 49, was driving down a hill with a load of lemons Monday at Leavens Ranch near Moorpark when, it appears, he lost control of the machine, said Deputy Coroner James Baroni.
The forklift crashed through a metal fence and tumbled down an embankment.
Magdaleno fell out of the lift, and it landed on his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Baroni said.
Magdaleno was employed by Rodeos Farm Labor Contractor, Baroni said. He was described as an experienced forklift operator.
No one witnessed the accident, which Cal-OSHA was still investigating Tuesday.
