THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times Orange County publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Monday:
ANAHEIM
* Riverside Freeway at Brookhurst Street: A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash at 11:25 p.m. Saturday in which another man was injured.
BREA
* Alder Street: A petty theft was reported in the 200 block at 6:01 p.m. Sunday.
* Imperial Highway: A petty theft was reported in the 1100 block at 7:16 p.m. Sunday.
* Southridge Drive: A burglary was reported in the 1300 block at 10:49 a.m. Sunday.
BUENA PARK
* Los Amores Street: Report of graffiti on a residence and trash on a front lawn in the 8400 block at 8:23 a.m. Sunday.
* Fox Hills Avenue: A resident requested extra police presence in the 5500 block because someone has been throwing dog food into his backyard and the food is not on his dog’s diet.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Peppertree: A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police said he walked up to another man who had been working on a car in the 17300 block and shot him at 3:18 p.m. Friday. The victim suffered minor injuries.
* El Toro Avenue: Someone entered a residence in the 10600 block through the living room window and ransacked the office, master bedroom and children’s bedrooms and stole $3,600 worth of property; reported at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday.
GARDEN GROVE
* Euclid Street at Trask Avenue: Two robbers armed with handguns and wearing black gloves held up an Arco gas station at 8 p.m. Friday. They fled with an unknown amount of cash.
* Brookhurst Street: Report of an audible alarm at the My Nguyen restaurant in the 14000 block at 4:45 a.m. Friday. Officers found that the restaurant’s glass front doors had been pried open.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Ross Lane at Wagers Circle: Someone set off fireworks in a backyard at 12:50 a.m. Saturday.
IRVINE
* Cashew: Miscellaneous tools valued at $6,000 to $7,000 were reported stolen from an open garage in the first block at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
* Harvard Avenue: A leaf blower and a hedge trimmer were reported stolen from the back of a flatbed truck in the 19000 block between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday.
* Walnut Avenue at Yale Avenue: Police responded to a noninjury traffic accident after a vehicle ran into a building Friday.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Pacific Coast Highway: A Bellflower man was arrested on parole violations during a traffic stop in the 100 block Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Police said the violations include possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Stockport Street: Deputies responded to a residential burglary in the 25200 block Sunday. The resident had returned home at 12:30 a.m. to find the bedroom window open and about $227 worth of miscellaneous items missing.
* Stockport Street: A resident in the 25200 block returned home at 2 a.m. Sunday and found the front door kicked in. Nothing was missing from the residence.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Golden Lantern: Deputies arrested two boys on suspicion of burglarizing 12 vehicles and two garages in the 30000 block at 2:40 a.m. Friday. Authorities said all property was recovered and returned.
LA HABRA
* West Imperial Highway: A petty theft arrest was made in the 1200 block at 4:34 p.m. Sunday.
* North Harbor Boulevard: A drunk-in-public arrest was made in the 500 block at 11:35 a.m. Sunday.
* North Euclid Street: Report of an auto theft in the 900 block at 7:37 a.m. Sunday.
* Euclid Street at Keene Drive: A drunk-in-public arrest was made at 6:11 a.m. Sunday.
* East Whittier Boulevard: A drunk-in-public arrest was made in the 300 block at 3:28 p.m. Saturday.
* South Glencliff Street: Report of a petty theft in the 1000 block at 3:16 p.m. Saturday.
* South Glencliff Street: Report of a hit-and-run to property in the 800 block at 1:07 a.m. Saturday.
LAKE FOREST
* Eucalyptus Lane: A resident in the 22000 block reported at 2:55 p.m. Saturday that his cellular phone was stolen from his front lawn while he was doing yardwork.
* Serrano Road at Toledo Way: Deputies stopped a car for a vehicle code violation at 7:35 p.m. Saturday; after a records check, they found that the driver was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. Deputies arrested the suspect and cited him for the violation.
LA PALMA
* La Palma Avenue at Redford Lane: A 44-year-old man was arrested on a Long Beach warrant after a traffic stop at 6:56 p.m. Saturday.
MISSION VIEJO
* Papagayo Drive: Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle being driven through El Dorado Park at 11:52 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said an 18-year-old man had driven his Toyota truck into the park and overturned it. The suspect was cited for vehicle trespass and vandalism.
* Maximus Street: A residential burglary in the 25000 block was reported at 2:45 p.m. Saturday. Two golf bags with clubs and accessories were taken from the garage.
* Alicia Parkway: Deputies arrested a man driving a stolen vehicle from Montana at 3:45 p.m. Friday.
ORANGE
* West La Veta Avenue: A 10-year-old boy nearly drowned Sunday in an apartment swimming pool. The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. at the La Veta Monterey Apartments in the 700 block. The boy was out of the water and conscious when paramedics arrived. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
* North Main Street: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 600 block at 10:42 a.m. Saturday.
* North Tustin Street: Report of a theft at a nursery of $230 in merchandise in the 1500 block at 4 p.m. Saturday.
* East Almond Avenue: Report of the theft of a cellular phone and personal items from a car in the 300 block at 6:47 a.m. Friday.
* East Palmyra Avenue: Report of a burglary with attempted forced entry in the 2000 block at 9:46 a.m. Friday.
* East Quincy Avenue: Report of a burglary with forced entry at an apartment in the 1900 block at 9:47 a.m. Friday.
PLACENTIA
* Yorba Linda Boulevard: A robbery was reported in the 1100 block at 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
* Bradford Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 100 block at 8 p.m. Sunday.
* Montessori Avenue: Report of an abandoned vehicle in the 400 block at 5:23 p.m. Sunday.
SEAL BEACH
* Opal Cove Way: A caller told police that a blue heron walked into a house and was sitting in the kitchen at 2:22 p.m. Saturday. It appeared to be injured. An animal control officer picked the bird up.
TUSTIN
* Red Hill Avenue: A white male in his 20s held up a convenience store in the 14000 block at 7 a.m. Saturday and fled with $55 in cash.
* Collar: The microwave ovens were stolen from three model homes in the 11700 block; reported at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
WESTMINSTER
* Westminster Boulevard: Someone stole five cartons of cigarettes from a convenience store in the 8400 block at 5:07 a.m. Sunday.
YORBA LINDA
* Sweetwater Place: A grand theft was reported in the 5700 block at 2:02 a.m. Sunday.
* Esperanza Road at Fairmont Boulevard: Vandalism was reported at 8:27 a.m. Sunday.
* Copper Canyon Road: A petty theft was reported in the 5400 block at 12:48 p.m. Sunday.
* Via Del Bisonte at Via Del Gavilan: Vandalism was reported at 1:55 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Monday: Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, Fullerton, Laguna Woods, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Stanton and Villa Park.
