Garman Coming Off the Field
Cal State Fullerton softball Coach Judi Garman said Wednesday she is planning to turn over her on-field coaching duties to assistant Michelle Gromacki next season and focus on the administration of the program.
“I’m looking to retire sometime next year, and this will move us more in that direction,” Garman said.
Garman said she plans to retain her title as head coach until she retires. “I probably won’t decide when that will be until sometime this fall,” Garman said.
Garman, the national leader in college coaching victories in softball, completed her 20th season as coach this spring. She started the softball program at Fullerton in 1980. The Titans won the national championship in 1986 under Garman.
