List of Candidates Grows to Five as Murray Interviews With Kings
The Kings’ coaching candidate list swelled to five Wednesday with the inclusion of Andy Murray, who spent last season coaching at a Minnesota prep school and has a wealth of international experience.
Dave Taylor, King senior vice president and general manager, interviewed Murray at the team’s Great Western Forum offices.
Murray also has been an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota North Stars and Philadelphia Flyers.
He joins a list that includes former Buffalo coach Ted Nolan, Long Beach Ice Dog Coach John Van Boxmeer and Montreal assistant Dave King. Dave Lewis, associate coach with the Detroit Red Wings, will interview with Taylor today.
There is no indication as to when Taylor will select a replacement for Larry Robinson, whose contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
