LAKE FOREST
The City Council on Tuesday changed the way its members spend city travel funds. Council members now will be able to draw from the council travel account to pay for expenses without the consent of a council majority. Requests for travel expenses have been routinely granted, but the council denied a request earlier this year from Councilwomen Marcia Rudolph and Kathryn McCullough to attend a National League of Cities meeting in Washington. The council majority considered it unnecessary for city officials to attend a national event.
