Bullfrogs Top Las Vegas in Shootout
Tom Menicci scored the deciding shootout goal for the Bullfrogs, leading his team to a 6-5 victory over the Las Vegas Coyotes in a Roller Hockey International game Friday in Las Vegas.
The victory moves the Bullfrogs (15-2-2) into a first-place tie in the Western Division with the Coyotes (15-4-2).
Bullfrog goalkeeper Rob Laurie recorded his league-leading 13th victory of the season, stopping 35 of 40 shots, including three of six in the shootout.
Hugo Belanger led the Bullfrogs with three goals and one assist, tying him for the league lead in scoring with 59 points.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Bullfrogs scored two goals in the second and two in the third, taking a 4-3 lead. Rich Bronilla scored two goals in less than a minute, giving the Coyotes a 5-4 lead in the fourth, before Kevin Kerr tied the score, sending the game to a shootout.
The Bullfrogs will play the Rhinos Sunday afternoon in San Jose.
