Man Held in Shooting Death of His Son, 17
SANTA MONICA — A man who police say shot his 17-year-old son to death during an argument in their home Friday was arrested on suspicion of murder, the Santa Monica Police Department reported.
The shooting occurred about 10:24 a.m. in the 1500 block of 16th Street, authorities said. Neighbors called police after hearing a gunshot, and officers soon arrested David Emile Herbert, 49. He is being held without bail.
The victim, whom police only identified as Herbert’s son, died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. No one else was home, police said.
