Gonzaga 83, Pepperdine 52--Richie Frahm scored 19 points and Jeremy Eaton had 16 as the Bulldogs (12-4, 2-0) routed the Waves (10-7, 1-1) in a West Coast Conference game at Spokane, Wash.
Pepperdine jumped to a 17-12 advantage before Gonzaga recaptured the lead for good with a 20-4 run to close out the half. Gonzaga, up 44-29 at the break, extended its lead to 71-41 with 8:56 left.
Pepperdine got 15 points from Jelani Gardner and 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds from Kelvin Gibbs.
Portland 72, Loyola Marymount 69--Jason Franklin and Travis Andrews scored 13 points apiece to lead the Pilots (7-7, 1-1) over the Lions (5-9, 0-2) in a WCC game at Portland.
Elton Mashack led Loyola with 16 points and reserve Tim Kennedy scored 13. Each had eight rebounds.
Chuks Neboh’s rebound basket with 4:34 to play broke a 63-63 tie and Franklin’s three-point basket from the corner capped a 9-0 run that gave Portland a 69-63 margin with 3:14 to play.
