COLLEGE BASKETBALL / SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP
Cal State Northridge 99, Cal State Sacramento 65--Derrick Higgins scored 22 points as the Matadors (17-11, 9-6) ended their Big Sky Conference regular-season schedule by blasting the Hornets (3-23, 3-13) at Sacramento.
The Matadors made 64% of their shots, including 10 of 19 three-point attempts, had 16 steals and 11 dunks and nearly scored 100 points for the first time this season. It was their largest margin of victory on the road since 1988.
Unlike Thursday night’s 17-point loss to Weber State, Northridge did not miss Rico Harris and Greg Minor, who were suspended for poor conduct and did not accompany the team on the trip. Coach Bobby Braswell will meet with them Monday and determine whether they will rejoin the team for the conference tournament at Weber State.
