Calvin Baylor
Golden West, Sophomore
Track & Field
Baylor, from Lakewood High, was a reserve wide receiver on the football team but is making a big impact for the track team. He won three events worth 21 points and Golden West scored 127 points to beat Santa Ana (126) and Saddleback (83). Baylor was first in the 200 (22.7) and the 400 (50.7) and the long jump (21-10 1/2).
Basketball
Greg Gray
* Santa Ana, freshman. He scored 26 points as Santa Ana beat first-place Saddleback, 84-75.
Sarah Middlebrooke
Orange Coast, Freshman
Basketball
Middlebrooke, a forward from Cerritos Valley Christian High, scored a career high in points in one game then nearly tied it in another. She made 10 of 12 shots from the field and finished with 22 points as OCC beat Riverside, 73-58. She then scored 20 points and got 12 rebounds as OCC defeated Cypress, 74-68.
Basketball
Christina Carcich
* Saddleback, sophomore. Made a three-pointer as time expired to give Saddleback a 54-51 upset of Santa Ana.
