New Norton Update Fixes Quicken Error
Symantec Corp. said a recent update to its popular Norton Antivirus software program causes malfunctions in the latest editions of Intuit Inc.’s Quicken personal finance software. A Symantec update, issued earlier this week, can cause Quicken 2000 to run more slowly or stop working altogether, the company said. A new update that corrects the error is now available on the Internet. The program can automatically update itself over the Internet on a designated schedule with modifications that guard against the latest computer viruses. In Nasdaq trading, Symantec shares fell $3.31 to close at $57.44, and Intuit shares fell 50 cents to close at $60.69.
