Dinner and Art

Wednesday, Sept. 1

The Westlake Village Art Guild will open its 1999-2000 season with dinner and a watercolor demonstration by artist Henry Fukuhara at the Thousand Oaks Inn, 75 W. Mummy Talk

Wednesday, Sept. 1

Stuart Tyson Smith, anthropology professor at UC Santa Barbara, will lecture on “Unraveling the Mummy--Death and Burial in Ancient Egypt and Nubia” at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 2770 Borchard Road, Newbury Park. Wild Life Art

Santa Paula Weekend

“First Weekend in Santa Paula” will open from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 3 with a display of classic and antique cars on Main Street between 8th and Mill streets; from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 4, 40 antique and collectible dealers will display their merchandise on downtown Main Street; and from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5 a trolley will leave the Santa Paula Depot each half hour with stops at the Union Oil Museum and the Santa Paula Airport. Beatles Tribute

Monday, Sept. 6

The Conejo Recreation & Park District’s Summer Concerts in the Park series will conclude with “Yesterday, A Tribute to the Beatles” at 5 p.m. at Conejo Community Park, at Dover and Hendrix avenues, Thousand Oaks. Free. Information: 381-2747.

Horseshoe Tournament

“Godspell”
