Los Angeles Man Found Slain in the Desert
LANCASTER — Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving the killing of a Los Angeles man found in the High Desert near Lancaster.
The beaten body of Rhonell Felix Ramos, 34, was discovered Monday morning in a rural area near 210th Street West and Avenue D-4. Detectives said they had few leads in the case.
“This is a puzzler because Ramos was just a regular guy. He appears to have had no trouble with the law and didn’t seem to bother people,” said Det. Joe Holmes, who is investigating the case.
Holmes said Ramos died from blows to the head with a blunt object.
His car, a black 1982 BMW 320i with California license plate 3BWE145, was missing.
Ramos, who lived in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles, was known to frequent racetracks and casinos.
The Sheriff’s Department asked anyone with information to call Holmes at (323) 890-5500.
