Kerzenbaum’s Goals Spark Irvine Valley

Yigal Kerzenbaum scored both goals in the first half to give Irvine Valley a 2-0 men’s soccer victory over San Diego Mesa Tuesday at Irvine Valley.

Miljan Soskic had nine saves in the shutout for the Lasers (9-1).

In another nonconference game:

Glendale 5, Cypress 1--Oscar Ortega scored two goals for visiting Glendale (6-1) and Tony Estrada scored for Cypress (2-5).

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Orange Coast 9, San Diego 0--Emma Ekblad and Taylor Yurada scored three goals each for OCC (3-3-2).

Palomar 2, Irvine Valley 1--Jana Mellotti tied the score for Irvine Valley (1-4-1) in the 62nd minute, but Heather Storrs got her second goal of the game for Palomar.

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Victor Valley 3, Cypress 1--Heather Hammonds had 17 kills for Victor Valley (1-2), which won, 15-13, 15-13, 12-15, 15-7. Stacy Clements led Cypress (1-1) with 19 kills.
