VILLA PARK
Villa Park Little League is seeking a long-term lease from Orange Unified School District to use the athletic fields at Cerro Villa Middle School. The baseball league, which serves about 500 children ages 5 to 15, has spent about $80,000 to improve the school’s playing fields. Now the league has developed a master plan for additional improvements that would cost about $160,000.
But before these improvements are made, league officials are requesting a 10-year agreement with the district. Currently, the league operates under annual permits granted by the district.
The board took no action at its Nov. 5 meeting. Cerro Villa staff is reviewing the request. The board may consider it Dec. 10.
