Residents Invited to Air Suggestions at Meeting
Westside residents will have the chance to address questions and complaints to representatives of several city service departments at a Los Angeles City Council meeting and mini-town hall being held at the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center tonight.
Representatives from city departments including animal services, building and safety, recreation and parks, street services, police, fire and many others will be present to speak with residents, said Niki Tennant, a spokeswoman for Councilwoman Ruth Galanter.
The council will discuss new strategies to facilitate pedestrian safety and traffic control, as well as hear reports from the departments of airports, water and power and Port of Los Angeles on their readiness to combat computer problems caused by the year 2000 changeover.
The council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the recreation center, 2551 Motor Ave.
