Camarillo Deep Sixes Agoura to Win, 20-9

Camarillo High hit six home runs but needed nine runs in the fifth inning to break away from Agoura for a 20-9 Marmonte League victory Friday at Agoura.

Eric Foster hit two home runs, scored three times and had three runs batted in for Camarillo (6-1, 2-0).

Shane Miranda, who had four RBIs, Jay Caligiuri, Joe Yingling and Spencer Wyman also hit home runs for Camarillo. Caligiuri and Foster each had three RBIs.

Andy Alstot (3-0) allowed one run in three innings of relief for the Scorpions before the game was halted by the 10-run rule.

Michael Falco and Matt Bernstein hit home runs for Agoura (5-2, 0-1), which rallied from a 7-2 deficit to take the lead with six runs in the the second inning.

Westlake 15, Channel Islands 2--Garrett Michaels had three doubles and two RBIs for the Warriors in a Marmonte League victory at Westlake.

Kevin Howard had a home run, single and three RBIs, and Brian Bladen had two hits and scored three runs for Westlake (4-3, 1-0).

Joey Cuppari and Scott Dragicevich each had two hits for the Warriors.

Buena 3, Hueneme 1--Ponch Ortiz (3-0) pitched a four-hitter and struck out eight, and the Bulldogs (4-2, 1-0) scored three runs in the fifth inning of a Channel League game at Buena.

Santa Barbara 6, Oxnard 3--Jason Pleasant pitched five innings of no-hit relief while striking out nine but the Yellowjacksts (3-2, 0-1) lost a Channel League home game.

Quartz Hill 7, Antelope Valley 6--Parker Metheny hit a home run with the bases empty with two out in the seventh to give the Rebels a Golden League victory at Quartz Hill.

Carlos Hernandez had three hits, including a double, and scored two runs, and Brady Robbins had a home run, a single and two RBIs for the Rebels (5-1, 1-0).

Simi Valley 13, Newbury Park 7--Bobby Stockwell scored the go-ahead run when he was hit on the back by a throw to the plate in a nine-run sixth inning of a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley.

Brandon Voorhees had two hits and three RBIs, including a two-run home run for Simi Valley (5-2, 1-1).

Hart 20, Saugus 3--Travis Richardson had a home run, a double and six RBIs, and the Indians pounded six Centurion pitchers for 17 hits in a Foothill League game at Saugus.

Nick Mercado had three hits and four RBIs for Hart (7-0, 2-0).

Valencia 6, Burbank 5--Marty Mears’ run-scoring single capped a two-run seventh inning and gave the Vikings a Foothill League victory at Valencia.

Brian Otis scored the tying run for Valencia (7-2, 2-0) on a wild pitch.

Tony Rodriguez hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to bring the Vikings to within 5-4.

Rio Mesa 3, San Marcos 2--Ernie Borjas scored the winning run on an error in the eighth inning of a Channel League game at San Marcos.

Rio Mesa (5-1, 1-0) scored two runs in the seventh when Nick Barroso was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Frank Tinoco walked to force home the tying run.

Glendale 5, Hoover 3--Jorge Rojas (1-2) pitched a five-hitter and struck out five for the Dynamiters in a Pacific League victory at Glendale.

Ryan Noll had two hits and two RBIs for Glendale (1-5, 1-0).

Crespi 10, Alemany 4--Zeke Morrow had three hits, including a three-run home run, to help the Celts win a Mission League game at Crespi.

Crespi (6-0-1, 2-0) is ranked No. 2 in The Times’ regional poll.

Andy Campanella had three hits, including a single in the second inning that put Crespi ahead to stay, 4-3.

Palmdale 8, Lancaster 2--Chris Testa had four hits, including two doubles, for the Falcons (3-2, 1-0) in a Golden League game at Lancaster.
